LYNX & KEMO - "The Raw Truth"

LYNX & KEMO (Soul:r / Digital Soundboy)

Soul:R (Marcus Intalex), 31 Records (Doc Scott), Digital Soundboy (Shy FX)… just some of the labels which have released tracks by Lynx and Kemo in 2008. ‘Carnivale’, ‘Global Enemies’ and ‘Skylines’ have all become club hits within the drum’n’bass scene. Marcus Intalex has been so impressed with the unique sound of Lynx & Kemo that he released their debut “The Raw Truth” on his groundbreaking label Soul:R in June 2009.

To promote the album Lynx & Kemo are currently touring the club and festival circuit and have been booked together not only all across Europe and the UK, but as far afield as Singapore and Australia. On tour, they perform as DJ and vocalist/MC or for selected events as a live showcase featuring MC DRS and further guests.

The album itself also features the vocal talents of MC DRS, Vaceo, Master X and Spoonface among others. They all have contributed to what is not a run of the mill DnB album but a fusion of DnB/HipHop/Dubstep/Triphop that has a crossover appeal to many open minded listeners.

D&B has been waiting a long time for an act that could combine musical diversity with crowd pleasing success, and LYNX & KEMO has been worth the wait! You will see no better proof than the super clubs of London, where dance floors are ripped up on a weekly basis by Hotriders, Global Enemies, Semitones or one of the many other tracks in their current repertoire.

LYNX's dedication to music was strong from a young age, and he started work experience at Chichester based studio ‘Airtight’. Airtight was a nursery for producers including Friction, Mampi Swift, Stakka, Skynet, and Skinny who were all found busy writing the next D&B anthem. There could have been fewer places better suited to help LYNX hone his skills. LYNX ‘s hard working attitude and natural ability for music production soon led him to co-manage Airtight.

Being a producer passionate for progression and having an aptitude for diversity, LYNX moved easily from techno drum and bass to the aptly named ‘liquid funk’. From then LYNX grew confident in his ability to capture the essence of a musical genre and his releases started to span the drum and bass musical spectrum.


KEMO (Soul:R, Digital Soundboy, Combination, Unique, USA/UK)

KEMO’s global upbringing has allowed him to absorb to a wide variety of cultures and experiences, a fact that is clearly reflected in his musical work: he is currently also working on Dubstep, Techno, Broken Beat and Hip Hop tracks with a variety of European producers. Douglas Greed and KEMO released their first Single Deadlines in 2008, which was championed by the likes of Laurent Garnier. Zed Bias also features KEMO on his infamous Biaspheres Series and the duo continue their experimentation in sound together.

2007 and LYNX & KEMO’s first release ‘Global Enemies’ saw its release on Soul:R, to accolades by the scene’s top djs… “This track is gonna be big, deep deep stuff’ (Fabio, BBC Radio 1). 'Global Enemies' was closely followed by the equally impressive Soul:R release “Carnivale” later in 2007 and firmly cemented Lynx and Kemo as easily one of the most exciting and original DnB acts to surface in 2007.

Lynx followed this in 2008 with various solo efforts including the absolutely massive Disco Dodo on Fabio’s Creative Source, possibly the biggest dnb record of the past 12 months. The LYNX & KEMO machine has not stood still however and their track ‘Skylines’ feat. Ciah was released in Summer 2008 on Shy FX’s Digital Soundboy label. Throughout 2008 the two have finished their debut album ‘The Raw Truth’, which was released on Soul:R June 1st 2009 and has proved itself to be yet another boundary-breaking masterpiece.
